Abstract:

The present paper is a case study which investigates an Iranian EFL teacher’s attitude towards incorporating technology into English classes and teaching EFL courses online for the first time due to the Coronavirus outbreak. The focus of the research was to identify the Iranian EFL teacher’s perspectives about online instruction and to evaluate the online courses the teacher taught from the EFL teacher’s perspective while identifying possible challenges after the completion of the online courses. The teacher had never experienced teaching English online prior to the pandemic. The teacher took part in a semi-structured interview with the researcher. Based on the data obtained from the semi-structured interview, the findings of this study indicated that even though the Iranian EFL teacher had a positive attitude towards teaching English online, some problems interfered in this process. The findings of this study and implication for teachers who teach English online are provided in the study.
