Using metal oxides in biofuel cells fabrication abstract

Catalyzing of chemical energy conversion into electrical energy can be performed utilizing oxidoreductase enzymes inenzymatic biofuel cells (EBFCs) as bioelectronics devices. EBFCs are a type of fuel cell that applied enzymes forenergy conversion to electricity and the fuel oxidation and/or the oxygen or peroxide reduction. In recently years, significant attention was paid to the metal and metal oxides in various fields including energy-related devices, solarcells, and sensors because of their numerous advantages such as structural stability, low cost, and abundance. Hence, metal and metal oxides have been extensively applied. This study details EBFCs that used metal oxide for theirelectrodes modifications.
