Abstract:

aluminum matrix nanocomposites reinforced with Graphene oxide, with excellent mechanical properties and low density, are a new category of advanced materials for a wide range of applications. The aim of the present studied is to use the Equal-channel Angular pressing method to fabrication aluminum / graphene oxide composites (Al-GO) with the number of process cycles (ie ۲ cycles, ۴ cycles and ۶ cycles) at ۳۰۰ °C for ۱۵min. X-ray diffraction (XRD) and optical microscopy (OM), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) were used to study microstructural development. In addition to microstructure, the hardness, compressive strength of Al-GO composites was investigated in different cycles. The results show that, with increasing number of cycles, the strength and hardness properties increase. The highest mechanical properties were observed in cycle ۶ of the process (CS:۱۳۹.۵, UTS;۲۲۷.۹۴), that due to the GO embedding between the aluminum powders and the reduction in grain size.
