Abstract:
Companies need to select suitable suppliers in today's competitive environment by looking at some predetermined parameters such as cost, reliability, efficiency, technological capacity, lead times, and supply chain risks. As a multi-criteria optimization problem, a risk-adjusted supplier selection model is proposed, given that various types of risks consist of natural disasters, supplier failure, cost volatility, and other risks. Different criteria such as political, economic stability, flexibility, warranty, and some other novel criteria are considered in this paper. An integrated analytic network process (ANP) and Taguchi loss function and goal programming are proposed to decide each supplier's priorities and solve the supplier selection problem. The criteria are specified for a telecommunication company, so it can be a useful model for decision-makers in such companies to support decision-making in selecting fiber optics suppliers.
