An Introduction to Biomass Energy and its Conversion Technologies

Biomass is biological material derived from living, or recently living organisms. In the context of biomass for energy, this is often used to mean plant based material, but biomass can be equally applied to both animal and vegetable derived material. Energy can be extracted from biomass by a conversion technology. In this paper, an introduction to biomass energy is given and the conversion technologies of biomass energy are introduced.1
