Abstract:
the object of this article is to introduce a fuzzy number approximation by trapezoidal fuzzy numbers which preserves the core interval and is the best one with respect to the L2-norm. an attractive feature of the proposed iioperator lies in its inherent tendency to generate a continuous approximated fuzzy number even thought the original one is discontinuous.
