Abstract:

Background: The main way to improve the quality of care is to improve nursing communication skills. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of reminiscence training on professional relationship in Pediatric nursing staff.Methods: This study is a quasi-experimental design that consisted of all babies and infants' nursing staff working in educational hospital of Bushehr in ۲۰۱۹. The participants who were ۸۴ nurses and practical nurses took part in the study as samples. The validity and reliability of the questionnaires were confirmed. Pre-test was taken from two groups. The experimental group received an eight hours reminiscence training session. Post-test was taken from both groups immediately after and a month after intervention. To analyze data, descriptive indices, independent t-test, and repeated measures ANOVA were used.Results: Comparing mean scores of professional communication showed that there was statistically significant difference between changes in mean scores (changes in mean scores over three time points) of nursing staff professional relationship in the experimental and control groups (P<.۰۰۱).Conclusion: training based on reminiscence is effective in improving nurses' professional communication, so it suggested included in nurses’ educational programs as a training method.
