Abstract:
Introduction: CT scan of the lung is one of the imaging methods to diagnose Covid-۱۹ disease, but due to its high dose, it will increase the risk of cell DNA damage and lung cancer; accordingly, the purpose of this study is to provide CT scan dose reduction methods to reduce the risks of high dose in patients with Covid-۱۹.Materials: according to research, using CT smart dose technologies protects the patient from high doses and improves the efficiency of the technologist. Of course, this technology includes a wide range of areas that this study has suggested in a few cases; these include CT for kids, ۳D dose modulation, Organ dose modulation, and ASIR-VTM, which help the technologist, achieve a high-quality image with the lowest possible dose. Results: the first method presented by this study is ASIR-VTM, which is the latest regeneration technology to reduce noise levels, improve diagnostic ability, low contrast and regularly reduce patient’s doses. The second method is Organ dose modulation, which automatically reduces the dose for superficial tissues such as the eyes, anterior chest, and provides a virtual protector for sensitive anatomy. The third method introduced by this study is ۳D dose modulation, which uses automatic dose modulation, personalizes the protocols and applies the dose according to the patient's physical condition. The latest approach is CT for kids, which is a great way to optimize the balanced dose and improve the imaging conditions of children with Covid-۱۹ due to vulnerability of this group to imaging. Conclusion: the results showed that the use of methods presented by the study will reduce the dose of ۸۲% of patients with Covid-۱۹ and in addition will prevent an increase in the annual dose of patients and provides a higher quality of the image.
