Abstract:

In order to study the efficiency of alcoholic materials and amino acids for increasing the concentration of carbondioxide the assimilation process and dry matter production in plants, the effect of methanol and glycine betaine foliar application on yield and some biochemical traits of different Fodder beet genotypes were examined. This research in ۲۰۱۹ was designed as factorial split plot experiment in a randomized complete block with three replications in two regions with different climatic conditions such as Qom (as a semi- arid climate) and Hamedan (as a subtropical climate). The study consisted of three factors. first factor, methanol with three levels of foliar application (control, ۱۵ and ۳۰% by volume of methanol), the second factor, glycine with two levels of foliar application (control and four grams per liter of methanol consumed) and The third factor was that different fodder beet genotypes were considered at six levels (six different cultivars). In this experiment, methanol and glycine factors were located in main plots and fodder beet genotypes in subplots. When the average day and night temperature reached ۲۵ œ C, foliar application was done in three stages at intervals of every two weeks until the droplets flowed from the leaves. The results showed that the sites were significantly different in most of the studied traits and foliar application of methanol and glycine betaine improved root yield and sugar content, as well as the amount of potassium and sodium in the root and caused changes. It has become positive in the activity of catalase, superoxide dismutase and rubisco enzymes. Different genotypes of fodder beet have caused significant differences in yield and some physiochemical traits and have caused enzymatic changes. Based on the results of this study, these two substances can be considered as effective factors in maintaining and improving total yield. Also Hamedan treatment, in addition to the application of ۱۵% by volume of methanol and ۴ g of glycine betaine per liter of methanol consumed in the same conditions
