Abstract:

Due to human activities, the world’s climate has been changing. Agriculture as one of the main human activities has undoubtedly interrelated with climate change. The main aim of this study is to investigate the contribution of agriculture to climate change. The results of this study showed that agricultural developmetn has not had a positive contribution to raising the long-term average surface temperature as the main indicator of climate change. Iran as the study case needs to improve and sustain its agricultural practices and technologies. If the government and policymakers want to manage climate changes, they should have a more holistic and systematic view. In other words, not only do they need to consider all drivers, but they also have to pay attention to the network of relationships among the drivers.
