Abstract:

The greatest challenge to sustainable development and food security is global climate change, which is caused by carbon dioxide greenhouse gas emissions in the atmosphere, especially in arid and semi-arid regions of the world, such as Iran. The aim of this study was to estimate the weight values of carbon storage and their relationship with other physical and chemical properties of soil in Tabriz plain soils. Depth ۰-۳۰cm was used to prepare samples. The laboratory determined the physical and chemical properties of soil. The analysis of the results showed that among the physical and chemical properties of farm soils, carbon storage has a positive correlation with the amounts of phosphorus and clay in the soils. Output models through stepwise regression also confirmed this finding. Finally, it was used to prepare a carbon storage map by selecting the kriging method, which has a higher accuracy among other methods. The results showed that the absence of other environmental features such as land management, topographic, climatic factors and erosion in the studied models, caused a lack of explanation of the amount of organic carbon, which if those features are included in the regression may increase the coefficient of explanation (R۲) will be model.
