Abstract:

In this study, Cavitation is investigated in a real-size four-hole nozzle. Schnerr-Sauer cavitation model is used to investigate formation of cavitation inside diesel injector nozzle. Verification is performed using Winklhofer rectangular shape nozzle. Then a real size four-hole nozzle is investigated and it was found that by simulating only one-fourth of the domain using periodic boundary condition, a noticeable amount of time will be saved. It was also found that decreasing cavitation number, would increase the length of vapor volume fraction at the beginning, but the mentioned decrease is not significant in the middle of the process.
