Classification of Finesk River sedimentary in entrance section and amount of sediment estimatation to Finesk Dam abstract
Rivers are playing an important role in the creation erosion, production,
transport and deposition, and changes in the morphology of the
ground. The studies about characteristics of sediment in the river and the
factors which are effective in production of sediment load and the
carried amount of sediment by the river are all so crucial in construction
of a barrier over river. This research is based on Sedimentary and
Hydrological studies upon Finesk basin in Semnan Town. The purpose
of this study is classification and determination of particles sizes,
determination of tissue parameters of particles sizes and control factors,
litho facies identification and also estimation of the total sediment load
entering the dam Finesk. In this area studies of sedimentary were done,
particularly around the main Finesk river channel led to identification of
gravel kinds of litho facies. To determine the tissue parameters and
characteristics of sediment particle size, 10 samples were taken from the
main channel bottom sediments and this showed that the highest
percentage weight of sediment taken, was relevant to the Particle gravel,
and sediments in the basin has a very bad and evil Sorting, positive and
mostly very positive skewed, strain can be moderate or mesokurtic. Due
to the hydrodynamic conditions and the entry of the river Sub branch
tissue parameters to hands down any special trend has not been
detected. For locating the stations Finesk was used the hydrological
method of FAO, USBR to estimate Finesk river sediment load. Since
FAO has had a better function rather than USBR and gives almost a
closer estimation to a real scale, it was selected as suitable. The amount
of bed load has been accounted about 50 percent of suspension load
scale which was obtained according to the kind of sediments on the
river bed. As a result, the total amount of sediment produced in this
basin was estimated to be 6836.376 tons per year and especial sediment
was estimated to be 20 tons per square kilometer per year. Finally, with
an estimated volume of sediment deposited in the reservoir
sedimentation, the value was estimated to be 0.086 million cubic meters
per year.
