Green Synthesis and Characterization of ZnO/g-C3N4/RGO and Photocatalytic Activity Evaluation abstract

ZnO/G-C3N4/RGO were prepared with Simple and environmentally friendly method by using the aqueous leaf extract of Ocimum basilicum with potential adsorption MB. The synthesized ZnO/G-C3N4/RGO were characterized by Fourier transforms infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) analysis, field emission-scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD). It was shown that the well-dispersed ZnO nanoparticles (NPs) were deposited on G-C3N4/RGO homogeneously. So far as ZnO NPs with different diameters were synthesized in the varied samples, the ZnO NPs with an average diameter of around 20 nm. A relatively low amount of rGO–ZnO composites (5 mg) demonstrated enhanced photocatalytic activity to decompose methylene blue (MB, 10 mg L−1) under low-power ultraviolet light. In addition, the ultraviolet light-induced photocatalytic mechanism. Both rGO and crystallinity played important roles in improving photocatalytic activity
