Risk assessment and indicators for offshore installations

Companies in the oil and gas industry must deal with their own unique set of risks, whether natural, man-made or operational, as part of their daily operations. In the first part of this paper, use of risk assessment, as one step of risk management in the offshore industry in relation to safety aspects - safety to people’s life and health, as well as environment and property is described. In the second part, the focus is on the major hazard risk components for personnel staying on the offshore installations. An overview of the indicators used to illustrate these risk aspects is presented
