Investigating the impact of climate change on a coastal aquifer Case study Jafakendeh aquifer abstract
Does climate change affect the quantity and quality of the wells near the artificial recharge site? Do the sea-level changes affect the quantity and quality of groundwater on the coastal Jafakendeh aquifer? More than half of the world’s population now lives near the coastline. There has not been a comprehensive study on the impact of climate change and groundwater quality changes in the Jafakendeh aquifer in the research background. In this study, the relation between the Jafakendeh aquifer, climate change in north Iran, evaluated. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to examine trends, changes in groundwater level with some climatic variables of Jafakendeh aquifer with the non-parametric Mann-Kendall method and Change-Point Detection with Pettitt's process. The model results show that the climate change factor does not affect groundwater after establishing an artificial recharge system. The results of the research can be used for evaluation Cost-Benefit Analysis of artificial recharge sites after construction.
