Study Maternal Literacy And Residence In Promoting The Health Of Neonatal in Zahedan University of Medical

Introduction: Millennium Development Goals of reducing child mortality under ۵ years is considered. Environmental factors as risk factors is effective in reducing neonatal mortality. The aim of this study is to investigate the causes of neonatal deaths and is associated with environmental factors.Materials: The study is research epidemiological analysis of case / control retrospective, records of neonatal who were hospitalized in ۱۳۸۸, the questionnaire has been completed. Cases and controls were randomly selected and extracted data from the questionnaires with SPSS software and statistical methods One-Sample t-test and Odds Ratio were analyzed.Results: Cause of death neonatal, the mother lived in rural areas and low maternal education is associated with increased neonatal mortality.Discussion and conclusions: Every year many neonatals lose their lives due to environmental factors. With care before and during pregnancy, mothers high risk to infant mortality can identify and neonatal mortality reduced. Mothers who live in rural areas - illiterate or low educated.
