Abstract:

Bubble dynamics during the elongation process in an immiscible rotating filed, while the bubble is centered at the rotating axis, is demonstrated numerically in this study with the lattice Boltzmann method. Bubbles on the rotational axis of an immiscible rotating flow tend to relax to their equilibrium shape, which is dependent on the angular speed of rotation. An analytical relation is also derived for the bubble equilibrium radius in terms of physical properties of the fluids and the angular velocity of the surrounding flow.
