Abstract:

The American juvenile justice system has undergone many changes since its inception. U.S. juvenilecourts initially followed the correctional model. With the increasing rate of recidivism and also theincrease in the commission of violent crimes by children, especially in the ۹s and ۸s of the twentiethcentury, the juvenile justice system moved away from the model of correction and education. It tended tothe "constructive justice model" after the model Correctional Education and the Punitive Justice Model.Since the beginning of the ۲۱st century, the juvenile justice system in the United States has shifted to therestorative justice model.
