Abstract:

Oily wastewater has become a huge problem in industries due to severe environmental pollution without proper treatment. In this paper, nonwoven fibers packed bed was used for coalescence filtration of oil-in-water emulsion. Experimental studies were performed to evaluate the operating variables, which were used to determine the oil removal efficiency. The effect of several process variables such as bed height, flowrate and porosity of the fibers packed bed on the oil removal efficiency were investigated.The process optimized by using full factorial experimental design and the oil removal efficiency was obtained ۸۴.۸ % at which the optimum condition were found to be bed height ۸۰cm, flowrate ۲۰ml/min and porosity of ۰.۹۲.
