Abstract:
Different mathematical models have been used over the years to examine different problems associated with electrical machines. These range from the simple equivalent circuit models to more complex dq models and abc models which allow the inclusion of various forms of impedance and/or voltage unbalance. The inherent defect of the direct application of the ABC/abc and DQ/dq models for digital simulation of machine in faulty mode is the large computation time required for the inversion of the time-varying inductance matrix during each step of integration. This paper proposes a new hybrid model (ABC/dq) for doubly-fed induction generator (DFIG) at the healthy mode and inter-turn short circuit fault at stator windings. Reducing order and time invariance of inductance matrix in faulty mode are two main advantages of this new model. Validation of proposed model has been approved with typical results which have obtained via MATLAB/m-file software.
