Abstract:

The world in which we live is filled with thousands of colors that have surrounded us, through allages and been used in an appropriate way. Colors are admirable phenomena and play an importantrole in our mental, emotional, and spiritual life. The azure sky, the red flowers, the green trees, andthe blue sea all in one way or another affect the trend of our lives.Sohrab Sepehri, a contemporary poet – painter, due to his geographical environment has takeninspiration from different colors and has applied them. Sepehri’s being a painter has a magnificentinfluence upon his poetry and during the mystical and philosophical moments, his language floatsin innate colors. In this study, an attempt has been made to study the role of color and its frequencyin Sohrab Sepehri’s poetry and analyze his life, personality, and different stages of developmentand transformation of his life on the basis of Erikson’s psycho-social theories.
