Abstract:

Introduction: Coronavirus ۲۰۱۹ (COVID-۱۹) is a rapidly spreading epidemic that has spread too many parts of the world. Thus, there is an urgent need to identify predictors of clinical severity in patients with Covid-۱۹. This may be useful for early identification of patients in need of rescue interventions. The aim of this study was to determine whether malignancies were significantly increased by the chance and mortality of COVID-۱۹. Method: In this study, studies published in PubMed from ۲۰۱۹ to ۲۰۲۱ examined ۳,۰۰۰ patients. Results: showed that there was a relationship between malignancies and the severity of COVID-۱۹. Also, there was a significant relationship between mortality and the incidence of this acute disease (P <۰.۰۵). Conclusion: Malignancies were associated with a ۲-fold increase in the chance of developing severe COVID-۱۹ disease as well as mortality. Larger studies are needed to confirm these findings. These patients should be closely monitored for signs of adverse disease progression.
