Abstract:
Carbon dioxide is one of the pollutants in natural gas that causes process and environmental problems, so it should be removed from the main component of the fuel. In this research, the ability to absorb carbon dioxide by a mixture of deep eutectic solvent and ۲-amino-۲-methyl-۱-propanol has been investigated using a static method. The solubility measurements of carbon dioxide were carried out using the aqueous ۲-amino-۲-methyl-۱-propanol (AMP) system and deep eutectic solvent (DES) prepared by components tetrabutylammonium bromide and ethylene glycol. The two different AMP-DES-Water (۴۰-۳۰-۳۰) wt.%, and (۵۵-۳۰-۱۵) wt.% systems were studied at ۳۱۳, ۱۵, and ۳۴۳,۱۵ K. The solubility results were demonstrated by the partial pressure of CO۲ against the carbon dioxide loading. As shown, the loading of CO۲ increased with the temperature decreasing or raising partial pressure. Moreover, the present results showed that the CO۲ equilibrium absorption reduced with the present deep eutectic solvent enhancement.
