Abstract:
Polymer fiber concrete is actually a type of composite that increases tensile, compressive, abrasion, shear, integrity, ductility, impact and ability to absorb more flexural energy and stability and durability of concrete against fire, heat shock and explosion. Polymer fibers in concrete structures can play a complementary role for steel, counteracting the spread of cracks and positively affecting the resistance of concrete to thermal stresses and mechanical properties of concrete. Mechanically, concrete has properties that are examined with the parameters of compressive strength, tensile strength, shear strength. The method of this research is descriptive review that has been used to collect information from library study methods and reputable sites. From the research findings, it can be seen that concrete is one of the most widely used materials in the civil engineering industry. Concrete structures, despite high compressive strength, show poor performance against tensile or bending. Therefore, to strengthen concrete against tensile and flexural forces, its reinforced types can be used, such as fiber concrete.
