Abstract:

The poor dispersity of silica particles in rubber matrixes is caused by the formation of a secondary structure (aggregate and agglomerate) of silica particles via silanol groups on the silica surfaces. Toenhance the interfaces between silica nanoprticles and SBR matrix and preventing silanol interfering in curing system, silica surface should bemodified. In the present study, 3-Aminopropyl triethoxy silane and 3- Mercaptopropyl trimethoxy silane have been employed to treating the silicasurface. Tensile was performed for determination of interfacial properties of the Silica/SBR nanocomposites. The result showed increasing in moduli at100% elongation and reduction in peak strain and elongation at break, for nanocomposites with modified silica. SEM images confirm better dispersion of nanosilica in modified silica-filled SBR nanocomposites
