Use of LncRNAs for Early Detection of High-Risk Colorectal Lesions abstract

Introduction: Colorectal cancer (CRC) is one of the most common malignancies in the world (1). CRC progressed by proliferation of precancerous lesions (Polyp) (2). Among polyp classification: Neoplastic polyps include Adenomatous and Serrated lesions which demonstrated an elevation in potential risk of becoming cancerous (3). At the molecular level, recently Long non-coding RNAs have become the most prevalent classification of non-coding RNAs that participate in the regulation of gene expression. Non-coding RNAs are classified into two major groups based on their length namely short ncRNAs (sncRNA) whit < 200 bp and long ncRNAs (lncRNAs) (4). The expression of LncRNAs in genome were not totally studied in polys (5). According to previous little studies, LncRNAs can play as an oncogene and tumor suppressor in malignancies, as a result, detecting diagnostic and prognostic LncRNAs in precancerous lesions is a noteworthy idea before malignancies occurred (6). Methods: In this systematic review, we focus on proposing a panel of Long non-coding RNAs as a prognostic biomarker in colorectal polyps for early onset detection of CRC. The molecular signatures of prognostic value are helping tailor for better and more effective treatment decisions. Result: With usage of all necessary bioinformatics data bases, 10 LncRNAs were selected for proposing a panel in early colon cancer screening. Conclusion: Polyps as a precancerous lesion which necessary for exploration before malignancy and noncoding RNAs like LncRNAs are the potential marker for early detection of colon malignancies. By all benefits of LncRNAs usage it can be deduced that early stages detection can reduce the range of murder and cost of treatment for societies and governments.
