Abstract:
Due to the inefficiency of conventional methods of extracting oil reserves, which account for more than ۴۰% of the oil in place, there is more need than ever to develop methods with higher efficiency. This justifies studies to develop more advanced techniques and the use of modern chemical methods. Different reservoir oils have different properties and compositions. Therefore, different results have been obtained with chemicals used to increase production, which requires a detailed knowledge of the mechanisms of chemicals with reservoir rock and fluid. The synergistic effects of nanoparticles combined with injection of chemicals into reservoirs have also helped to improve oil production performance. The effects on improving production through the use of nanoparticles vary in different environments, some of which may be influenced by the intrinsic properties of the particles. In general, developing and increasing the efficiency of dispersion methods requires a better understanding of their mechanisms of action in the reservoir environment. Micromodels can be a good tool for studying and understanding the mechanisms of chemicals and nanoparticles because they provide a porous environment. In this study, we investigate the injection mechanisms of alkaline, surfactants, and polymers and their synergistic effects with nanoparticles.
