Abstract:

Training efficient human resources in the field of medical sciences that can meet the evolving needs of society requires up-to-datecurricula and innovative training and evaluation methods. In the face of lack of motivation and student conflict, digital game isconsidered as a possible educational option. The aim of this systematic review was to review the latest available evidence of theimpact of using digital game-based learning in medical education. Evidence from this review showed that digital game-based learningis comparable or better than traditional face-to-face learning. In addition, play-based education increases students' learning motivationand leads to high satisfaction and long-term knowledge retention. Therefore, it is suggested that in order to maximize the potential ofdigital game-based education, future studies should focus on improving accessibility, increasing cost-effectiveness, and removingbarriers to the use of learning-based digital games.
