Abstract:

According to the global crisis of fuel and environmental pollution, especially air pollution in the current century, increasing the efficiency of internal combustion engines seems necessary. Increasing the efficiency of these engines will reduce fuel consumption and ultimately reduce the production of polluting gases from the exhaust. Peugeot TU۵ engine is one of the popular engines of Iran Khodro Company, which is used by most of the cars produced by this company. One way to achieve this is to generate more power by using a turbocharged engine of the same volume. The turbocharger makes combustion more efficient. The purpose of this paper is to investigate the effect of using a turbocharger system on the performance and exhaust gases of the engine exhaust with different compression ratios. The simulated model was validated for gasoline at different engine speeds and injected into the engine at full load. The simulation results were in good agreement with the experiment. The results of this study show that using turbocharging to increase efficiency, power and torque produced by the engine has increased. Emissions of pollutant gases such as nitrogen oxides, unburned hydrocarbons and carbon monoxide, which are dangerous pollutants, show a decreasing trend, but carbon dioxide, a less dangerous pollutant, is on the rise.
