Survey Types of Data Warehouses Architectures abstract
Data warehouse architecture is a way to define the overall architecture of data processing and communication that exists for end customers being calculated in the structure. Each data warehouse is different, but they are all characterized by standard vital components.Manufacturing applications such as payroll payment and inventory control are designed for online transaction processing (OLTP). Such programs collect accurate data from daily operations.Data warehousing applications are designed to support temporary user data needs, an activity recently called online analytical processing (OLAP). These include programs such as forecasts, profiles, summary reports and trend analysis.Generation databases are constantly updated by hand or through OLTP applications. In contrast, the warehouse database of operating systems is updated periodically, usually at inactive hours. As OLTP data is stored in production databases, it is regularly extracted, filtered, and then uploaded to a dedicated warehouse server that is accessible to users. Because the repository is full, tables should be taken out of normal, data cleared of errors and redundancies, and new fields and keys added to reflect the user needs to sort, combine, and summarize data..
