The Study of Knowledge & Attitudes of Relief Workers located in Norouz rescue & relief bases of Red Crescent Society of Mazandaran in ۲۰۱۰ towards relief subjects

Introduction: Regarding the significant role of trained and skillful relief workers in reducing losses caused by disasters, it is important to improve training programs qualitatively and quantitatively. So, this paper aims to determine knowledge and attitudes of relief workers in relief & rescue ba ses (fixed and mobile) at Norouz in ۲۰۱۰. Methods: In this desc riptive-analytical study, ۹۰ male relief workers of Red Crescent Society were selected at Norouz relief & rescue ba ses in Mazandaran province in ۲۰۱۰. Using a two-part questionnaire, some data was obtained as demographic information, knowledge and attitudes of relief workers. Findings: According to the results: the workers age average was ۲۳/۹±۵/۱ years; the score average of general knowledge (from ۲۰ points) was ۱۷/۶ ± ۴/۹; the score average of public knowledge was (۲۰ points) and professional (۱۰ points), ۱۲/۴ ± ۳/۶ and ۵/۳ ± ۱/۸ respectively. Conclusion: Most relief workers (۶۶/۷%) had a moderate or very good knowledge and half of them had a very good attitude towards the whole training courses.
