Abstract:
The present work is focused on the degradation of ۴-chloro-۲-nitrophenol in aqueous solution containing nano titanium dioxide, hydrogen peroxide and the combination of nano-TiO۲/H۲O۲. The effect of experimental parameters, such as the amount of nano- TiO۲ concentration of H۲O۲, initial concentration of ۴-chloro-۲-nitrophenol and pH on the reaction was investigated. Experimental data obtained under different conditions describe the dependency of degradation rate on the above mentioned parameters. The optimum conditions of the degradation treatment were: [H۲O۲]=۱۰۰ mg/L; [nano- TiO۲]=۰.۰۰۴ g/۲۵۰ mL; initial pH=۱۰ and initial ۴-chloro-۲-nitrophenol concentration=۱۵ mg/L. Consequently, kinetic parameters were experimentally determined and a pseudo-first-order kinetic was observed.
