Abstract:
The lotus flower has been a sacred symbol of heaven throughout the history of Iran. TheAchaemenid kings respectfully hold them in their hands, which is a sign of peace andlife. The lotus flower was of special importance in ancient Iran. This flower has beenused as a symbol of purity in Achaemenid buildings as a decoration in buildings. Forexample, in Persepolis, it is seen as a decoration of carvings and capitals.. The name ofthe beautiful lotus flower in Turkish, French, Greek, etc. is lotus. In this article, weintend to study the concept of lotus flower and its use in ancient architecture as well asin modern architecture.The information collected in this article is descriptive-analytical and is also based on libraryresearch.
