Removal Methylene Blue from Aqueous Solutions using Poly Pyrrole coated on PolyEthylene Glycol composite abstract

In this work the adsorption of cationic dyes, Methylene Blue, onto polypyrrole coated on polyethylene glycol (PPy/PEG)from aqueous solutions was studied. The Percentage of dye removal of PPy/PEG to adsorb Methylene Blue from aqueousdye solutions was evaluated at different pH, contact times, adsorbent dosage and initial dye concentration. The optimumconditions of adsorption were found to be a PPy-PEG dose of 0.55 grams in 50 mL of Methylene blue solution (20 ppm),a contact time of 14 min and pH 1. The equilibrium data were applied on several kinetic models and the pseudo-secondordermodel was the best model to describe adsorption process. According to the obtained results, Adsorption isothermswere well fitted by Langmuir model.
