Detecting The Structural Instability Using OpenSeespy and Numpy abstract
Using finite element packages is very popular, but not all the packages include the model check for instability and warnings (like ”model check” feature in ETABS). It is more convenient to know about instabilities before the analysis and get the coordinates. The situation is even more complicated when the package does not have a GUI to see the pre-processed structure. In this paper, the instability of structures is investigated, and different approaches are studied for this purpose. The OpenSeespy version used here is 3.3.0.0, and the Numpy version is 1.16.2.
