Effect of multi-walled carbon nanotube addition on the low-velocity impactproperties of Kevlar fiber/epoxy composites abstract
The effects of modified-multi-walled carbon nanotubes (M-MWCNTs) loading on the low-velocity impactbehavior of Kevlar fiber/epoxy composites were investigated in this research. Aminopropyltrimetoxysilanecompound was used to modify the surface of the MWCNTs. The epoxy resin was incorporated with 0, 0.15,and 0.3 wt% M-MWCNTs to fabricate the multiscale M-MWCNTs/Kevlar fiber/epoxy composites with thehand lay-up method. The obtained results indicated that the highest impact resistance was related to themultiscale specimen having 0.3 wt% M-MWCNTs.
