A brief review on energy absorption of armored vehicle body structure due toshock loads caused by explosion abstract
Protecting the armored vehicle and passengers against the shock loads caused by the explosion is vital. Inthis study, different armored vehicles are examined in terms of body and energy absorbers to reduce theeffects of outbreaks caused by mines, projectiles, and homemade bombs, and optimization is done bychanging the filling materials in different layers of energy absorbers and changing the geometry andthickness of the walls. This study suggests using the V-shaped body under the armored vehicle in order tosignificantly reduce injuries. Also, in order to reduce casualties and injuries to the passengers, the heightof the car floor should be increased, and the outer layer of the armor should be made of materials withhigher density and strength. Energy absorbers should be used on the floor of the car, walls, roof, seats , andpassenger helmets.
