Abstract:

The overall purpose of this study was to compare the profile of erectile structure of individuals with mental and athletic disability of athletes and non-athletes. People with mental disabilities are a vulnerable social group whose physical health is also of particular importance. Significantly reduces the ability to comprehend new and complex information and to learn and apply new skills. Meanwhile, there are many physical deficiencies among people with mental disabilities. The population of the present study, all athletes with mental disabilities of the Special Olympics are known as athletes in this study and people with non-athlete mental disabilities are also classified as non-athletes. The research sample includes ۱۰۰ boys and girls with mental disabilities of athletes who have participated in at least one of the sports in special Olympic competitions and have a history of at least ۳ months of sports activities (mean age ۲۵.۲۴±۳.۹۷۲, height ۱۷۸.۳۵± ۹.۸۸۸ And weight of ۷۹.۱۳± ۱۳.۲۸۹) and ۱۰۰ boys and girls with nonathlete mental retardation available (mean age ۲۵.۷۵± ۴.۳۶۶, height ۱۷۹± ۹.۷۹۹, weight ۸۱.۵۱± ۱۱.۳۹۶) in Two groups were studied. To evaluate the abnormalities, the checkerboard and the New York test were used for kyphosis, lordosis, scoliosis, and asymmetric pelvis, corresponding to each anomaly. Non-parametric Chi-square test was used to analyze the data. The results of this study showed that there was a significant difference in the variables of lordosis (p = ۰.۰۰۸), asymmetric pelvis (p = ۰.۶۰۴), scoliosis (p = ۰.۰۵۲), kyphosis (p = ۰.۰۰۱) and in two groups of athletes and non athletes. According to the present results, it can be concluded that people with mental disabilities of athletes have a better erect structure than non-athletes and the special Olympics have a very important role in improving the physical condition of these people.
