Abstract:
Background and Objective: The COVID-۱۹ pandemic, and governments’ responses to it, have had a substantial effect on people’s lives and livelihoods worldwide. This paper aimed to evaluate the effect of COVID-۱۹ pandemic on Micro plastics in environment.Materials and Methods: In this literature review, the keywords COVID-۱۹ pandemic, Environment and Micro-plastic, were searched and studied in articles from ۲۰۱۹ to ۲۰۲۱published by Pubmed, Google scholar, Science direct, and Scopus.Results: Accidental disposal of plastic masks and debris during the COVID-۱۹ pandemic has led to new and more contamination of microplastics in environments. Current studies are mostly stated out that microplastics pollution should be a big deal because of their enormous effect on the aquatic biota, and the entire environment.Conclusion: The rapid growth of mask production and consumption and improper disposable is worrying. It is urgent to understand the potential environmental risks and significance of masks. Protecting human health and ecosystems must be a priority even in the face of COVID-۱۹ epidemic.
