CD۴۴; as a Tumor Biomarker in Breast Cancer Stem Cell

Cancer Stem Cells (CSCs) are asubpopulation of cells within malignanttumors. These cells possess stem cellcharacteristics such as self-renewal,differentiation and the ability torecapitulate the parental tumor whentransplanted into a host. CSCs have beenidentified in various types of tumors,including breast, brain, colon, leukemiaand lung. Studies showed that theunderlying presence of a smallsubpopulation of undifferentiated cells,termed breast cancer stem cells(BCSCs), are most likely give rise totumor progression, spreading andresistance to conventional therapy.In the current study, keywords includingBreast Cancer Stem Cell, Biomarker, andCD۴۴ were reviewed from the list ofMesh and other credible websitesincluding PubMed, Science Direct andGoogle Scholar and the data wasorganized.
