The Effect of Teaching Organized Games on Students' Cognitive Ability

Abstract:
The present study is carried out to investigate if the teaching of organized games can affect the development of the child's decision-making, and also if playing mental and motor games can be effective in fostering a child's social cognition. The purpose of this study was to explore the effect of organized games teaching on the development of students' cognitive ability, which has been done by quasi-experimental method of preliminary and final test design with a control group using cluster random sampling. The statistical population of this study was ۶۲۰ elementary school male students in ۱۰ schools, of which ۲۲۰ students were considered through cluster random sampling method, of which, by screening, ۶۰ students as Samples were selected in two groups of ۳۰. The organized games training program was carried out in ۱۰ sessions of ۴۵ minutes for two months on the experimental group, and after the training sessions, the post-test was conducted for both groups and they responded to the Rescue Cognitive Competence Questionnaire (۲۰۱۳). The obtained data was analyzed by using multivariate analysis of covariance (MANOVA). The findings showed that the students were highly affected by the organized games training program and this training has affected their cognitive ability, decision-making, planning, social cognition, memory and sustainable attention.
