COBIT 5: Governance and the Security of IT

Nowadays, computer scholars consider the 21st century as the age of IT and emphasis the importance of information as property and strategic resource in any organization; So, how to manage IT is an important element in any organization's planning to guarantee the value of IT which is related to risk management and information control. And is considered as a key element in the leadership of organizations; therefore, it is necessary to increase the management and monitoring of IT to ensure strategies and objectives of organizations are met. Therefore, due to the rapid expansion of IT and the ease of access to information, IT auditing is crucial and it is necessary to ensure that effective controls are done to maintain the integrity of data and provide access to information management. In this paper, regarding the point that Information Technology Governance (ITG) is an integral part of management, ITG is considered with the approach of COBIT 5. Then its role in IT organization security is investigated to managers to implement IT governance with the aim of improving organizations. Also, the necessity of IT auditing in the context of COBIT 5 is explained in detail.
