GIS AND SPATIAL DESISION SUPPORT SYSTEM FOR DESERTIFICATION MITIGATION IN WATERSHED abstract
In more programs, essential studies are done in detail, but in planning phase was not act well. Compositing multi criteria and do right decision making in watersheds for desert mitigation is very complicate and strongly need to apply GIS, computer and decision support systems. Hable Roud watershed had many spatial data so this watershed was selected. Tow models for compositing the suitable spatial factors and constraints were designed. One for determine desertificated sites and another to determine suitable sites for desertification mitigation. Then maps were rasterised and standardized in value range between 0 and 1. They were weighted by analytic hierarchy process (AHP). Compositing of these layers were done by spatial multi criteria evaluation (SMCE) with GIS software ILWIS 3.3. Output was composite index maps: desertificated sites and desert mitigation planning. Desert mitigation map was classified, and identified in each class which measure should be done. Biological desert mitigation plan was recommended. This is a SDSS that can help to data mining and decision making be faster and more exactly. It is recommended apply and trade-off other factors and constraints with this method in other watersheds.
