Abstract:

The use of renewable energy in the world is very important today. One of these is wind energy, which is widely used in buildings above the urban wind turbine. In this paper, a numerical analysis (CFD) is also carried out to investigate the flow field properties at the roof level as a function of the shape and height of the installation roof, the height of the building upstream and the distance between buildings, and the impact of parallel buildings adjacent to the installation building. Using k-𝜀 Turbulence model-۳D, the effect of building height and surrounding configuration on wind speed at the roof were investigated. It is concluded that parallel buildings around the installation building have a significant impact on wind properties. The results show that in order to take advantage of the aerodynamic effect of optimal wind acceleration on the roof, the height ratio between the upstream building and the installation building should be between ۰.۶۲۵ and ۰.۶۸۸. The maximum increase in wind speed is about ۴۳% and the maximum potential energy of the area is about ۱۴۰%.
