We have read with great interest recent DCISobservational studies by Mannu et al. and Giannakeas et al. regarding invasive breast cancer risk and breast cancer mortality after ductalcarcinoma in situ and the association of a diagnosisof ductal carcinoma in situ with death from breastcancer. In this paper, we explore some of theshortcomings of the current landscape of DCISliterature and make a call for global data sharing forsources of DCIS outcomes data.
