Abstract:

This paper examines the relationship between environmental attitude of SMEs owners and managers and their pro-environmental performance with emphasis on Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB). The statistical population of the study included the owners and managers of Iranian agricultural small and medium-sized enterprises. In order to gather data, we used the revised version of New Environmental Paradigm (NEP) with five facets of “limits to growth”, “antianthropocentrism”, “fragility of nature’s balance”, “rejection of exemptionalism”, and “the possibility of an eco-crisis”. The findings revealed that all the five facets of environmental attitudes were lower than the standard mean, and there was a significant relationship between the five facets of environmental attitude and intention to pro-environmental performance. Moreover, also facets of limits to growth, and the possibility of an eco-crisis explained around ۱۹% of the variance of intention to pro-environmental performance
