Abstract:

Using differential quadrature method (GDQM), thermomechanical analysis of thick hollows sphere made of functionally graded materials (FGM) is presented. First, thermal conduction equation is solved and temperature distribution is obtained in throughout hollow sphere; Then, using Hook's relation, strain-displacement equations and equilibrium relation, governing equation of the stress analysis of the FGM hollow sphere is derived. Numerical results show that using FGM materials, temperature distribution and stress and displacement fields in hollow sphere can be changed for various profiles of the materials along the radial direction. It is shown that any change internal temperature and internal pressure effects on the stress and displacement field in hollow thick sphere.
