Abstract:

In the present study, the Eulerian - Lagrangian model is proposed to study the unsteady gas-solid two-phase flow across a circular cylinder. The equations of motion are solved for the incompressible two dimensional laminar flow and the particle motion equation, simultaneously. The particle trajectories are outlined at different time to investigate the unsteady particles flow patterns around the cylinder. Furthermore, the effect of Reynolds number, particle diameter and boundary condition of the cylinder are investigated. The results show the produced Von Karman Street after the cylinders. The inner rings of the initial produced vortices are made from the primary inlet particles. Furthermore, the results show that the diameter of the particles should be large enough in which some particles are trapped by the cylinder.
