Abstract:

There exists high potential for using robotic airships as low speed aerial vehicle in different tasks. This paper deals with dynamic modeling of an airship, which is inevitably necessary for controlling an autonomous airship. Dynamics of the airship has been developed using Newton-Euler approach and for aerodynamics forces Gomez approach has been used. In practice by knowing payload the designer should have the ability to choose appropriate aerial vehicle dimensions, as a result a method has been proposed for choosing appropriate airship dimensions.
